How to Chose the Right Size Wetsuit

 

The correct fit for your wetsuit is important whichever water sport your engaging in, be it scuba diving, surfing or one of the other myriad of sports where a wetsuit is required. Choosing the appropriate size and type of wetsuit can depend on a number of factors and preferences. There are a number of things to consider, including the water’s temperature, the geographic location of the activity, and your preference for long or short sleeves in your wetsuit.

 

In order for the wetsuit to be effective, it should be snug enough to not have gaps between the skin and suit, but still offer enough space for a thin layer of water between the suit and skin. Check that there are no large gaps in the armpits and that the contact points on the wrists and ankles are snug. In addition, if the wetsuit zipper needs to be held together while being zipped up, chances are you’ll need to get a size larger.
